Continuing Education

To maintain a valid paramedic license you must obtain at least 48 hours of CE every 2 years from an approved pre-hospital CE provider only in courses, classes or experiences that are directly or indirectly related to patient care and are structured with learning objectives and an evaluation component.

In order to work as a paramedic in California you must also apply for accreditation to the local EMS agency in the county(ies) or region in which you work. Contact your local EMS Agency for specific information regarding county accreditation. A list of local EMS Agencies can be found on the EMS Authority website, or call the paramedic program at (916) 323-9875

Information regarding continuing Education requirements for Paramedic and Paramedic refreshers can be found at www.nremt.org and CE Solutions
