The faculty of EMSTI have years of experience in pre hospital and emergency medicine as practicing physicians, registered nurses and paramedics.

Many of our instructors have established themselves as leaders in their field and are published authors in leading professional journals such as the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) and Journal of the Joint Commission of Health Care Organizations (JCHCO). Emergency Medical Sciences Training Institute (EMSTI) is Northern California’s leader in EMS education. Our program is recognized for excellence in the classroom and in the community. EMSTI’s students receive detailed instruction from a broad base of medical professionals.

EMSTI believes that paramedic students benefit not only from the instruction of other paramedics, but also from the teaching of Physicians, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Anesthesiologists and other medical field specialists.

The EMSTI faculty are compromised of a wide variety of EMS and health care specialists. The diverse backgrounds of our instructors are a testimony to the comprehensive education that our paramedic students receive.

Experience and leadership in education as well as a strong and aggressive community relations program form the foundation of EMSTI Paramedic program, which continues to grow and to seek continued excellence with each year.

The primary teaching staff of Emergency medical Sciences Training Institute (EMSTI) have over fifty (50) years of teaching and administrative experience in Emergency Medical Services. The majority of staff have state issued credentials earned by the many years of experience teaching in the California community college system. Ancillary staff have a minimum of six (6) years full time experience as a licensed and active paramedic.

EMSTI also has a strong presence and commitment to its local EMS systems. The current program director is also the chairperson of the local County Emergency Medical Services Committee (EMCC). Our medical director is the former president of the California Medical Directors Association known as EMDAC and was a leader in writing the state medical protocols.

Many of our staff members are also nationally recognized leaders in continuous quality improvement (CQI) theory and have introduced innovative concepts which have enjoyed publication and peer review in journals such as the Journal on Quality Improvement (JCAHO: March 2001) and the Journal of emergency medical Services (JEMS: April 1990; February 1987)
